Question for those who are literary and unafraid

Did a tape synch* yesterday with a big and famous editor at big and famous publishing house. The editor had a gun** on his desk.

What I want to know is this: is the gun for shooting authors who misbehave?

*for all you non-radio people a tape snyc is when go and hold a microphone next to someone who is being interviewed by someone else who is on the phone. That way you're really able to record really nice and clean sound.

** Wasn't a real gun. At least I don't think so....
